This turned out to be a big week for OpenOffice and LibreOffice. Apache announced OpenOffice as a top-level project and at the LibreOffice Conference, it was announced that the city of Munich was migrating over to the free software office suite.

- Glyn Moody reported on the GOV.UK site coming out of beta in the ComputerWorldUK blog, “GOV.UK “Open” for Business; More to Follow.”
